On April 1st, 2009, we will begin to see the tax cuts that President Obama has worked so hard for. A bill that took what seems like forever to pass in Congress was signed into law by President Obama less than one month into his presidency. Obama made the following statement after signing the bill into law:
“Never before in our history has a tax cut taken effect faster or gone to so many hardworking Americans”
Starting in April, a typical family will take home at least $65 extra dollars a month. Obama has used the phrase “Making Work Pay” as the slogan for the tax break which will affect 95% of working families. The stimulus tax cut will provide a $400 tax credit for individuals and couples will get up to $800. Most hard working Americans will see about $13 more in their weekly pay.
President Obama’s stimulus package is expected to help save or create over 3.5 million jobs, which is just what America needs right now. President Obama knows that this is only the first step in the economic recovery but he is adament that we will not fail “to complete the journey.

The tax debate is a red herring. Despite the optimistic numbers in your graphic, tax revenue will be about 20% of GDP, regardless of whose tax plan gets approved. See Hauser’s law: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121124460502305693.html?
I do not think that anyone worked hard on this tax bill. It was rushed through Congress and filled with tons of pork and earmarks. I know what hard work is, and I know how to work hard. If I really need an extra $13 a week , I’ll quit smoking or sell something on eBay.
The last thing I or my family needs is to have the IRS “make my work pay” My employer pays me. We don’t need this administration to give us anything, we need them to take less.
Their actually giving us our own money back, and telling us to be thankful (FU). And at the same time pass one of the largest budgest in the history of our country. Maybe his face should be on the dollar bill so our future generations will not forget who stole their future.
Why can’t people understand this simple concept. Oh, yeah, it’s not taught in schools anymore.
The strange thing about this is… for 8 long years nobody question a thing Bush requested. This man could not even speak correctly, not to mention that he lied about weapons of mass destruction that never existed and blamed it on the vice president. For 8 years he said the economy was sound but to find out his last year it was not sound it was failling into major debt(recession). In which, what ever Obama does, I’m behind it. I feel like people should have said something for 8 years not now. Some of the things he is doing is helping lower income people like me achieve and survive in the hateful world. Which means lows taxes which is why you see the difference in your paycheck because your taxes are lower (Duh!!!)Every proposal he has sent out somebody has something to say. I feel that his every move is being publically displayed so why have something to say.
Nicole, your mentality is the blind ignorance which got Obama elected. You’ve literally stated that you will support anything that Obama proposes because Bush did a poor job. It’s a nation that runs rampant with flawed logic and blind trust in an idol to whom they could care less to actually listen.
Bow down at the alter of Barack in unquestioning reverence. We’ve all seen what happens when political figures are worshiped.

When Bush was in office no one had anything to say. Has anyone thought of why we are in recession now ( who was in office for 8 years)
This was the worst thing he could do, now they dont take no federal taxes out of my check, so i will have to pay this year. So tell me how this if helping anyone????
