During the first full month of the Obama Mortgage Stimulus Plan there have been many critics. Many have expressed their concerns that this is going to cause a moral hazard meaning that people will try to screw the system. Another complaint is that it is still very hard to refinance or get a mortgage because the big banks and mortgage lenders are not lending any money. My question is, “What did Bush do?”
It is quite obvious that President Obama is going to have a learning curve with everything involved with the presidency, but at least he is changing things. Something went very wrong over the last three years and we cannot continue to be complacent and let the system try to work itself out. We need action! That is exactly what President Obama is doing. He is taking action.
For all the critics out there, let the Obama Mortgage Stimulus Plan be at least six months in age before you start to bash it. It is going to take time for lenders and borrowers to figure out how the system is going to change. Once the lenders and experts figure out what can and cannot be given to borrowers; maybe we will see a jump in people buying houses. One thing is for sure, we will never know if we don’t try!
As always, make sure to vote for President Obama on the Dollar here. We are trying to get over 1 million votes, so tell your friends!

AMEN !
Typical liberal wishful thinking. MAYBE if we just hope and keep on trying we’ll make the US some kind of utopia! Yeah, right. Those that supposedly “lived” the sixties are in power now and the effects of all the drugs they did are still with them. Haight-Ashbury is still fresh in their warped minds and they truly believe they can bring it all back for everyone to live. Unfortunately, none of them stayed around for the clean-up when it all ended as the hope they now cling to will surely end. The thought that merely trying something is better than nothing is the driving force and logic be damned. Of course when the current attempt to fix all of our problems fail no one will take responsibility for their failed policies, not when it is so easy to blame the wrong past administrations.
You asked “What did Bush do?”. It is time to stop looking back and use the now to help ensure a future that is desirable to as many people as possible. I ask what will a government run by the “Flower Power” generation do? Before you get your undies twisted let me say that I understand that Obama is NOT of that generation, he is only their poster child. He’s young and full of ideas like they have. He is generally liked for his charisma and personality not unlike the heros they had in the sixties. But, when the money and ideas come to a halt will they walk away and let someone else clean up the mess, patting themselves on the back for their noble failed effort efforts? Or, will they finally take real responsibility and stop throwing taxpayer money at everything that even looks like a problem? Personally I hope that Obama does somehow have the answers. As far as giving it 6 months to see if it works, he’s got 4 YEARS to make it work! I’m just afraid that if he IS wrong the wealth WILL be redistributed, just not where he wants it to be.
OK we give Obamas plan 6 mo. Then that means that the refinancing, other positive things going on now should be credited to Bush because its been 6mo. since the bail out bill was passed.
I’m a independent voter and I want every President to succeeded. Pay close attention to congress, they were suppose to vote on the 09 spending.before September which is governments new year. The democrats voted to hold spending at 08 levels until after the election. When they voted on the 09 spending they said that they were only finishing up what the Bush administration failed to finish. Who failed?
So he needs a “learning curve”– then what the heck is so special about him??? Anyone could say the same! He clearly never had a plan and you sheeple voted for him stating that he was the absolute “answer to all your problems.” I say that the 63 million or so who voted for him are the ones at point X on THEIR learning curve!
Please….you people still fail to realize that Obama’s PARTY was in control of the House of Representatives for TWO FULL YEARS before Obama took office…..and Obama was ONE of those representatives. Why didn’t he and his cronies propose something instead of sitting on their hands HOPING the economy would continue to falter so they could continue pointing the finger at the right.
Only a fool would point at a lame-duck President as the sole focus of blame.
We already know what Bush did. The question is Obama claimed to do something and he did…AIG walked with quite a bit of OUR money. The banks were bailed out and refuse to lend the money they were given for that purpose. Obama’s first 100 days are looking pretty lame to me. Now he’s making America look like a sissy in front of the whole world…great job, eh?
If the Clinton administration did not give the orders to let every unqualified person to buy a house and if the Democratic congress listened to Bush when he warned them about the consequences, we would not be in this predicament. Here we are again, giving the hard earners money to the people who most don’t deserve it. Socialism??
Banks started to fail because of greed and Americans not being able to pay loans and mortgages,so I never understood why we gave them a bail out.On paper yes it looked good if they have money they can give loans for cars and houses and whatever but that wasn’t what happened and didn’t solve the real issue, people are losing their jobs and can’t pay the banks back so places keep closing we keep losing jobs families are living in pop up tents and the banks will run out of money again right?
I feel the money given to the banks should have went to paying on these loans lets say the average mortgage is about a thousand a month and lets say the goverment paid off 3 months so thats 3 thousand per homeowner they dont have to worry about and that money can flow into the retail world. So everyone wins banks get their money, families keep their homes and bussiness stop closing and can start hiring again. And even I who don’t have a loan will be happy cause just maybe I can find a job again.
And thats another thing don’t give extra money towards unemployment I don’t want it.Use that money to create jobs improve our citys open a few parks people need to build them right theres some jobs.I would like to see goverment funded stores open that only sell made in the U.S.A. products and goverment funded farms and nursarys.I can go on and on but, I won’t.
Just remember this is our country and you must be the change you wish to see in the world.
Thought this was a news site, not an editorial page. “At least Obama is doing something” - implication, whether it helps or not is very enlightening of the authors lack of sense. “Do something, even if it’s wrong” was a slogan of the hippies in the ’60’s - airheads unite
Bush did exactly what he should have done; let the market work it out. Barry is an idiot; unfortunately, he reflects his constituency.
Since the real problem started with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae ..(some of the most important financial contributors of Obama’s election ) , since the real problem started with the bank deregulation wanted by Clinton and since Obama has been thru some organizations a promoter of this problem (before being elected president ) Since he applied and got hte job as President and new exactly what was coming with the position ..It would be a shame if he would do nothing ..But more importantly the Republican I am is more and more concerned by the positions taken by AOL in favor of the democratic party ..I already cut my monthly payments ..I might get another provider more (journalisticly speaking ) open and less partizan of some political party
How did your blog attract so many assholes? Reading through here is a real downer. I suppose Sarah Palin would be BUSTLING with phenomenal ideas? WTF.
Wow….I feel the intensity Ashy Larry here too.. I’m sooooo thankful that I’m not that angry and doubtful..
There is a segment called Conscious Friday and I wrote about President Obama.
http://operationyou.blogspot.com/2009/03/conscious-friday-president-obama.html
I find it interesting that alot of non-believers of Obama comes to a blog that believes in Obama. Is that an ego - structural belief - identification with mind and noise - afraid to just BE who they are and just what they believe? I go where harmony is for me. I wouldn’t go into a blog that promotes eating meat when I’m a 80% raw and a vegan.. Why? Anyway, Jesse W stopped by and I wanted to see where Jesse was peepin in from? Come visit my blog if you are looking for peace… Have an uplifting and beautiful day!
And now everyone wants to put Obama on the dollar and dish George, what has either done to deserve that and does America really have the extra money to throw away changing our currency which serves us well as it is, would we not be better off to put that money to something constructive?Like —well maybe doing something safe about not turning all those killers lose on America when OBAMA closes the Bay they believe the only way to go to their heaven is to KILL AMERICANS so they have stated and some of them according to the news will be turned loose in America and living among us , and what about the Hamas he is bringing them to America and paying to get them established, Great use of our TAX dollars when the country is in such fine state and americans going bankrupt every day, AHHH what a great and thoughtful caring president we have for the american people and the state of the country.
Go for it, Obama.
I hate Bush, he ruined the country and
he did not do anything for the country
before the war and then he used the
war to cover up. While he and his administration
still made a fat, while the people, in huge, numbers
go into deep-deep debts and other tragedies.
The bush administration and bush should pay
the deficit bill, from their collected fraudulent
checks. Do you see my point?
