Obama on the Dollar

As many of you already know, the Obama stimulus tax cuts started in April.  The question that Americans must ask is “does this really stimulate the economy?”  Yes, it is going to put money into the pockets of the middle and lower class, but is this really what America needs?  We are giving money to people who really don’t know how to use it.  If they did know how to spend their money wisely, it is highly unprobable that they would be in the financial situation they are in: minus young professionals and college students.

Yes, President Obama is giving you $13 a week extra on your paycheck.  What are you going to do with it?  Let me guess, buy something that you really don’t need!  Maybe a new stereo system for your car or a Nintendo Wii.  Unforunately, this is exactly what President Obama wants as he thinks credit is the “lifeblood of the American economy.”  Um, president Obama, don’t you think that savings should be a little bit more important than credit right now?

I will give this “stimulus” plan a chance, but I do not like the idea of taking money from the rich to give to the poor.  It sounds great in Robin Hood, but I am not too sure it will work in modern America.  As always, make sure to vote for President Obama on the Dollar here. Beginning April 1st, President Obama’s tax cuts took effect.  For 95% of working individuals, there will be a $400 tax credit given out throughout the remainder of the year.  There will not be a single stimulus check; the savings will be seen your your weekly or bi-weekly paychecks.  You can expect to see about $13 of an increase in your weekly paychecks.  Some companies are actually putting that savings on a seperate part of your paycheck just to illustrate the savings that President Obama is giving you.

Each of the calculators illustrate the same point; most Americans will be getting taxed less which will save them more.  Unless you make over $250,000 you are likely to see a paycheck that is larger due to the economic stimulus package.  We hope that this actually does stimulate the economy and helps us out of this troubling recession.  I think we all agree that President Obama is trying to change the way things used to be as that obviously did not work.

One of the most intriguing challenges that President Obama has to face is the task of getting the housing market in order.  Home prices were extremely inflated during the second half of this decade.  Now prices have fallen drastically and have yet to find a bottom.  President Obama and his administration are trying to help find a bottom in the housing market by putting a ceiling on mortgage rates.  Will this help the overall economy and the housing market?

Just last week, the government bought $51 billion in mortgage backed securities.  If the Federal Reserve Bank continues to do this, it is likely that we will see mortgage rates fall to as low as 4%.  The question is: does it matter how low rates are?  If Americans are struggling to get jobs, does it honestly matter how low mortgage rates are?  That is where President Obama has stepped in again!  He is doing his best to create jobs in this country.  “You have to spend money to make money” is a phrase that any successful person has heard.  This is exactly what President Obama is doing and it will help to determine his legacy as the leader of the United Staes.

Ultimately, I am not sure that it matters that mortgage rates are extremely low; what really matters is the American psychology about the economy and housing market.  If America thinks things are going to get better, it could do a lot to get us out of this recession.  As always, make sure to vote for President Obama on the Dollar here. President Obama continues to address the need to find a bottom in the housing market.  To do this, he is urging the Federal Reserve Bank to do everything in their power to lower mortgage rates.  The Fed is listening by buying more than $50 billion in mortgage backed securities.  Now seems to definitely be the time to buy a house or get a refinance as rates remain under 5% and homes are the cheapest they have been in recent history.

If you have been tempting to buy a home or go for that refi, now sure is the time to do it thanks to our President.  Let’s do our part in finding a bottom in the housing market by buying houses when mortgage rates are at historical lows.

As many of you know, one of the biggest issues that will be on president Obama’s mind over the course of his presidential term is that of the mortgage and housing industry.  The economy has been shaken to it’s knees mainly because the subprime mortgage crisis.  In the last five years, way too many home owners qualified for loans in excess of what they could afford.  They were able to make these mortgage payments for a little while, but when the economy showed any signs of turned south, mortgage payments started to straggle American financially.

Now that President Obama has targeted this issue, his adminstration has come up with the Making Home Affordable plan to help home owners refinance or assist in mortgage modifications to make mortgage payments easier to swallow.  The plan enacted allows home owners to use only 31% of their montly income to pay toward their mortgage.  Obviously, they can pay much more than this if they like, but if they are have trouble making the mortgage payment, they can contact their lender and get it reduced to 31% of the household monthly income.  The mortgage has to be backed my Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac to be elgible.

This week, President Obama and his family will add at Portuguese water dog to the first family.  It will be interesting to see if the four legged Obama gets nearly as much press as the rest of the family is getting.  As always, make sure to vote for President Obama on the Dollar here. During his time at the g20 summit, president Obama was loved by many and respected by all; the complete opposite of our previous president George Bush.  Some of the issues that were discussed at the g20 summit were:

• Tougher supervision of banks and hedge funds
• An action to restore global growth
• International cooperation to restore global growth in emerging markets
• Start global trade with a minimum of $100 billion on trade finance
• Meet pledges of overseas aid

Can anyone honestly say that George Bush ever mentioned these very important issues.  As I look at the pictures of the world leaders smiling and giving a thumbs up, I can only think of how much things have changed.  It is well documented that many of the world leaders did not like George Bush nor were they willing to work with him on global issues.  There is no doubt that our current president has brought “change” to the globe.

We now have a president that we can be proud of when he goes to solve global issues.  We no longer have to be worried about getting embarrassed or shunned because of our leader.  As always, make sure to vote for President Obama on the Dollar here. Kenya-based Samson Obama tried to get to the United States before his half brother was inaugurated but had some legal issues to deal with.  Samson, who manages a phone shop just outside of Nairobi, was arrested by police, in November, after he approached a group of young girls, one as young as 13, and tried to sexually assault them.  He then followed the group into a cafe and continued to remain aggressive with the girls.  He then gave the police a false ID of Henry Aloo and used his mother’s address, Mum Kezla.  Kezla married the current president’s father, Barack Obama Sr.

Sampson was refused a visa to enter the United Kingdom when officials discovered this incident.  Samson Obama has never been given a visa to enter the UK.  He is believed to have attended the inauguration but took a connecting flight from East Midlands.  The UK remains adamant that the president’s half brother will not be allowed in their country.

All families have their problems so this is not unusual.  We can only hope that this does not hinder our president’s ability to do his job.  We are quite certain that the conservative press will get this news and run with it, but hopefully it will not have any depth.  As always, make sure to vote for President Obama on the Dollar here.
