Obama on the Dollar

On April 1st, 2009, we will begin to see the tax cuts that President Obama has worked so hard for.  A bill that took what seems like forever to pass in Congress was signed into law by President Obama less than one month into his presidency.  Obama made the following statement after signing the bill into law:

“Never before in our history has a tax cut taken effect faster or gone to so many hardworking Americans”

Starting in April, a typical family will take home at least $65 extra dollars a month.  Obama has used the phrase “Making Work Pay” as the slogan for the tax break which will affect 95% of working families.  The stimulus tax cut will provide a $400 tax credit for individuals and couples will get up to $800.  Most hard working Americans will see about $13 more in their weekly pay.

President Obama’s stimulus package is expected to help save or create over 3.5 million jobs, which is just what America needs right now.  President Obama knows that this is only the first step in the economic recovery but he is adament that we will not fail “to complete the journey.

We are going to chronicle the journey that Obama on the Dollar takes.  We will keep track of how many votes are received for and against President Obama being a dollar bill so please make sure to vote!  On the first day, we received 17 total votes.  Of the 17 votes, 15 of them were against Obama being on the dollar.  Looks like we have an overwhelming majority so far, but let’s let this play out before making any deductions.
